Stacy sister is in from out of town filming another movie here in Detroit. So last night we all went to LTB's in downtown Wyandotte which was cool because at the same time we were able to meet up with some clients. Wyandotte is a great town. It's filled with great down to earth people and the downtown businesses stick together. FYI- The city is offering small business incentives and grants to relocate here! I thinks it's a great idea and I give the local government a lot of credit for knowing how to access the available federal programs.
Wyandotte is so much better than a city such as Allen Park which couldn't hang onto the movie studio deal that wanted to come in. What a boost this could have been for Downriver, but it won't be because the Allen Park officials blew it. Too bad. I also heard that the city lost it's fire department. Wow. Perhaps Melvindale should anex the sections north of Southfield Rd away from the city if they can't do things right themselves.
Southgate has always had a good mixture of businesses, small and large. The city is neatly assembled properly blending big box stores, corporations and small business together. It seems all the major chains end up in Southgate and it must be for good reason.
In my opinion Southgate and Wyandotte are great assests to the Downriver community. And lets not forget the Wyandotte Street Art Fair, one of the biggest in the state. It can almost be compared to Ann Arbors.
Also before I forget, Go Bears! And congrats on the State Hockey Championship. Another boost to local area. What great kids. I love this town.
